Writer. Educator. Human. Nerd.
And I write like it.
A few things you should know.
Though I graduated with a BA in English, I started college as a biology major convinced I'd be a surgeon or a scientist. I lasted a full semester before realizing I missed books, hated chemistry, and could just listen to Huberman Lab.
I studied abroad in London, and yes, it did change my life, and yes, I do bring it up all the time, and yes, I will tell you all about it. The same is true for Virginia Woolf, the Oxford comma, soft pretzels, and the 20-minute sitcom.
I taught elementary and middle school for four years, equipped with nothing but 8 weeks of training and a positive attitude. It was the hardest and best thing I've ever done, and it means I'm highly liable to get your attention with a little 1, 2, 3, eyes on me.
I believe there are a few perfect combinations on this planet: a long run and a sunrise over the lake, a buzzy brewery and a deck of cards, a soft blanket and a cat on your lap, a full cast audiobook and a new embroidery project.
This is my editor, Max.
Max is an invaluable member of the team, lending over a decade of creative experience and expertise. His genius is unmatched, but his tendency to sleep on the job has unfortunately held him back professionally.
